Celtic Teachers Ltd

Further Expertise

Alison and Phil are not the only people involved in CELTIC TEACHERS but they are the main point of contact for most people. Some of you will have already met Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Davies is a colleague and friend who has joined us out of sheer interest in the concept of CELTIC TEACHERS and for her pure enjoyment of being involved in school life. Elizabeth is a newly retired Infant Head Teacher with many years of teaching and management experience. Although she does not miss the pressures of being a full time Head, she does miss being in school and in the classroom interacting with children. This is why she would like to work with us and her role will be three fold. Elizabeth would like to do some supply teaching in local infant schools but she also enjoys going out to meet fellow head teachers to discuss our services and ethical ethos, as some of you already know. Elizabeth will also act as mentor to newly qualified and more experienced infant practitioners who would like someone to talk to, seek advice from or simply chat to about new ideas.

Elizabeth has many areas of expertise as she began her career working in junior schools before moving to the secondary sector. However, she later found her niche in infant education. Her initial degree was a 1st. Class Hons. B.Ed. from Cardiff University. She later did an Advanced Diploma in Mathematics Education followed by a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Education, all through the Open University. Of course, Elizabeth worked as a Deputy Head Teacher but also spent two years as an Advisory Teacher for Mathematics before becoming a Head Teacher. Elizabeth has been involved in many relevant training courses in recent years including the Critical Skills programme which she did with Alison and Phil so she would love to share her knowledge and experience with our teachers during training days and sessions.

Elizabeth is well known and greatly respected among her colleagues who are mainly in R.C.T. However, she is equally highly regarded in her local community in Bridgend as she works for several charities and worthwhile organisations on a voluntary basis. We are delighted to have Elizabeth on board at CELTIC TEACHERS and to be able to offer her services to schools and teachers as she is as committed as we are to our ethical philosophy and ethos.
